FINDING PASSION

How this blog came to be:

I am all about self-help podcasts and books! A couple weeks ago as I was driving and listening to a podcast about how to find your passion, when it suddenly hit me…. my passion for life was gone.

I was going through the motions, living through other people’s passion but not having any real passion of my own. I was not necessarily unhappy. I know I am blessed, but I did not feel like I was doing anything that really mattered.

I used to be full of passion and wonder for life, what happened to it?

It occurred to me other people feel this way too. I mean, isn’t that the exact reason we are all so addicted to social media? We love watching other people live passionate lives yet we have no idea where our passions lie!

It was time for a change. I decided to start taking notice of what I genuinely enjoyed about my day, whether it was cooking, working, grabbing coffee with friends, or watching a movie with my husband. I focused on what I genuinely enjoyed doing and what just drained me (I am still working on this list).

This is not something you can figure out overnight, in a week, or sometimes even a month.

To be real with you, I have been struggling to find my passion for about 5 years now. I have a few things in mind but it’s never the right time or the right season in life. It seems there is always something standing in the way.

I have been so jealous of people who knew what their passion is from a young age. I thought I knew but I got burnt out real quick. The reality is, in today’s society people get burnt out so quickly. People have passion and fire in their hearts but then life happens. We push ourselves so hard and expect perfection from the first try at something that, when we inevitably fail, we quit.

Passion gone.

We let fear take its place.

We let doubts, anxiety, and depression in our minds and hearts.

That is why I created this blog. I want to find my passion. I want to help others find their passion. I want to conquer fear and and anxiety and let them know they can not control me. I hope you join me on this journey of learning and growing because it is a journey that should not be taken alone.

We all mess up, lose focus, and sometimes just give up. Community is so important because we can remind each other why this matters. Why it is important to keep fighting and keep pushing! How it is okay to cry and be upset, and then how equally important it is to pick ourselves up afterward and remember our strength.

I want to create a community on here where we help one another find our passion and purpose through life’s ups and downs. I promise to be real with you and I hope you do the same.
